Corps member dies in Osun orientation camp

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member identified only as Bright has tragically passed away at the orientation camp in Osun State.

The news of his untimely death was revealed by his colleague, Lawrence Echezona, who took to Facebook to share the heartbreaking incident.

In a poignant post, Echezona narrated the events leading to Bright’s passing, stating that the corps member died peacefully in his sleep over the weekend. The news of his sudden demise has left his fellow corps members in a state of trauma and sadness.

“It’s a pity for us that are in Ede camp. May your soul rest in peace, Bright. He slept the day before yesterday and couldn’t wake up in the morning,” Echezona wrote, expressing his grief.

The post quickly garnered responses from others who knew Bright, including Ekpueke Mathew, who also offered condolences, confirming the unfortunate incident. A picture of Bright was attached to the post, serving as a poignant reminder of the life lost.

The state Public Relations Officer of NYSC, Funmi Okundaye, confirmed the incident, acknowledging the tragic passing of Bright. However, she refrained from providing further details about the circumstances surrounding his death.
