Chelsea Close £54M Deal for Pedro Neto, Pursue Atlético’s Omorodion

Chelsea is making significant moves in the transfer market, with recent developments suggesting a busy summer ahead for the club.

The latest news includes the imminent acquisition of Atlético Madrid’s promising striker Samu Omorodion and a high-profile deal for Wolves’ Pedro Neto.

Pedro Neto Transfer

Chelsea has reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the transfer of Pedro Neto. The deal, valued at up to £54 million, includes an initial £51 million bid plus potential add-ons. Neto is expected to undergo a medical examination in the next 24 hours as part of the final steps in completing the transfer.

The 24-year-old Portuguese winger has been a long-standing target for Chelsea. The club’s pursuit of Neto intensified following their failure to secure Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, who moved to Bayern Munich earlier in the transfer window. Despite a challenging season marred by injuries, Neto’s performances, which included three goals and eleven assists from 20 appearances last season, have kept him in high demand.

Samu Omorodion Move

In addition to Neto, Chelsea is closing in on Atlético Madrid’s Samu Omorodion. The two clubs have agreed on a £34.5 million deal for the 20-year-old striker, who is also a member of Spain’s Olympic squad. Omorodion is expected to complete his medical examination in the coming days, with the move representing a significant investment in young talent for Chelsea.

As part of the deal for Omorodion, Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is set to move in the opposite direction, with a £36 million transfer fee agreed upon. Gallagher’s move highlights the club’s ongoing reshuffling of its squad to align with new strategic goals.

Other Transfer News

Chelsea’s summer transfer activity also includes the recent additions of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jörgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo. With these signings, Neto will be the club’s ninth summer recruit.

Meanwhile, defender Trevoh Chalobah is available for transfer, with Chelsea anticipated to receive offers for him. Additionally, Crystal Palace is reportedly interested in Marc Guéhi, should he decide to move from Newcastle.

Chelsea’s transfer strategy reflects a significant overhaul as they aim to bolster their squad and position themselves for a successful campaign in the upcoming season.
