Daniel Bwala, an aide to the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has issued a warning to Nyesom Wike, the recently appointed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Bwala advised Wike to approach his role with humility and caution, especially in light of Wike’s threat to demolish illegally constructed houses within the FCT.
Following his assumption of office, Wike vowed to take action against houses illegally built within the nation’s capital, regardless of whose property would be affected. In response, Bwala took to his official X handle (formerly Twitter) to caution Wike about his approach.

Bwala’s tweet indicated that President Bola Tinubu might be compelled to take action against Wike if he proceeds with the planned demolitions in the FCT. He advised Wike to prioritize the basic needs of FCT residents and to avoid creating chaos that could lead to negative consequences for his position.
Bwala stated, “Hello sir, in case you need a refresher course, the basic needs of the residents of the FCT are: affordable healthcare facilities; access to good education facilities; clean sports and recreational centres; an affordable transport services system; efficient and workable street lighting in the city centre and the suburbs; and finally, security.”
Addressing Wike’s aggressive stance, Bwala emphasized the distinct nature of Abuja compared to Port Harcourt, indicating that the approach must be different. He cautioned that causing chaos within the city could jeopardize Wike’s role and force President Tinubu to take action.
“You came with a bullish and vendetta spirit, venting fire and brimstone about demolition and revocation of titles. Abuja is not Port Harcourt. If you create chaos in the city, you will jeopardize your principal’s interests, and he will be forced to sacrifice your job. You will learn humility on the job,” Bwala warned.
The caution from Atiku Abubakar’s aide highlights the importance of approaching governance with sensitivity, cooperation, and a focus on the welfare of the citizens of the Federal Capital Territory.
