Asari Dokubo sends strong warning to Tinubu: You are not Buhari, I will abandon you if you continue this way.
Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant, has issued a stern caution to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to refrain from making one-sided appointments. Dokubo perceives the President’s current path as perilous.
Dokubo had previously accused Tinubu of shaping appointments as if he were still the governor of Lagos State. He implored the President to reevaluate his appointments, emphasizing the importance of balance to avoid alienating those who supported him in the 2023 elections, despite running with a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
In a recent video circulating on social media, Dokubo conveyed that if Tinubu persists in his appointment choices, he and his ardent supporters may find it challenging to stand by his side. He emphasized that Tinubu should not assume he can emulate former President Muhammadu Buhari, who also made one-sided appointments without consequences.

Dokubo argued that unlike Tinubu, Buhari had a solid and loyal following, which allowed him to act as he pleased. The former militant alleged that those currently benefiting from Tinubu’s appointments had been reluctant to support him during the election, neglecting individuals like himself who had gone to great lengths to help realize his presidential aspirations.
