In a recent ruling, the Appeal Court in Lagos has upheld the election of Honourable Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing the Ethiope Federal Constituency in Delta State.
Rep Erhiatake secured her victory in the 2019 elections, defeating Ben Rolands Igbakpa of the NNPP and Mr Halims Ahoda of the APC.
On Tuesday in Lagos, a three-judge panel comprised of Hon. Justice Festus Ogbuinaya, Justice Senchi, and Justice Waziri issued their decision. Ibori-Suenu is notable for being the daughter of Delta State’s former governor and PDP National Leader, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.

She welcomed the court of appeals’ judgment as a monument to democracy’s endurance, underlining the decision’s importance in defending democratic ideals and ensuring people’s rights and choices.
