Shock as Hoodlums Abduct Professor Godwin Emezue
In a shocking incident, Professor Godwin Emezue, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) of Abia State University, Uturu (Abia Varsity DVC), was abducted by hoodlums on Friday in Umuekwu Amachara, Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to a statement by ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Police Command, the DVC and his wife were at a petrol station when the assailants confiscated the victim’s wife’s ATM card and forcibly took him into a Lexus SUV before fleeing the scene.

The Abia State Police Command assured the public that significant resources, including intelligence and technical aid, are being deployed to unravel the crime and secure the safe rescue of the victim. The statement urged residents of Abia State to remain calm, continue their legitimate activities, and stay vigilant while being security-conscious.
