ESUT to launch Innovation Hub April 30

The Vice Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, on Wednesday, disclosed the University’s readiness to launch its innovation Hub on April 30, 2025, to enhance certification programmes for her students.

He further stated that the Hub would equally enable the staff and students of ESUT to key into the ongoing ICT revolution which would empower staff and students of the University with employability skills.

He made the disclosure when the organizers of ESUT Computer Programming Competition led by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Chike Anibeze, presented the winners of a hackathon competition to ESUT Management.

Professor Okolie equally added that the University Management has designed a template to ensure that all students undergo at least three certification programmes which would make them financially independent before graduating from the university.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the dream was to produce graduates who would address societal problems in energy, health, education, and all sectors of the economy.

The DAP, Prof. Anibeze, while presenting the winners to the Management, stated that there were 69 entries, adding that only nine of them participated in the competition.

Equally, while addressing the ESUT Management, the Managing Director, Digital Dreams Limited, Chukwudi Edeoga, reiterated the importance of partnership between the town and gown.

He stated that Google was proposing to make ESUT one of the hosts for Africa AI Cloud Mentorship programme on April 7, 2025, adding that it would expose ESUT students to the world of coding.
