Atiku Expresses Readiness to Lead Opposition Coalition in 2027

In a recent development, former Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has conveyed his preparedness to lead a coalition of opposition parties in the 2027 elections, aimed at challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku shared this sentiment in a congratulatory statement extended to the governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose election victories were upheld by the Supreme Court.

The statement, issued by Atiku’s Media Office in Abuja, celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision as a positive stride for constitutional democracy. Atiku specifically commended PDP governors from Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, and Zamfara states for their triumphs. Additionally, he congratulated Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), underlining the necessity of a united opposition force for fortifying democracy in Nigeria.

“I am as prepared as ever to lead the charge, alongside all our leaders and Governors, for the good of our country,” asserted Atiku in the statement. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging justice and underscored that the Supreme Court’s verdict ensures the sustained adherence to good governance standards in the respective states.

Encouraging PDP governors to perceive their wins as an opportunity to strengthen the foundation of good governance, Atiku expressed confidence that, under his leadership and with the party’s proficient governors, the PDP will concentrate on its pivotal role as the major opposition party in Nigeria.
