In a significant military operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully conducted airstrikes in both Borno and Zamfara states, dealing a heavy blow to terrorists in the region.
The NAF’s air component of operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji carried out these missions, aiming to eliminate terrorists and secure the area.
In Borno State, a newly identified terrorist hideout near the Lake Chad region in Bukar Meram was the target of air interdiction missions. Intelligence indicated that terrorists had recently relocated to this area, likely in preparation for future attacks on ground troops and civilians. The airstrikes at Bukar Meram were designed to neutralize the threat, and the mission was deemed successful. Numerous terrorists were eliminated, and over 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks were destroyed.
In another operation, the air component of Operation Haradin Daji engaged a convoy of approximately 70 motorcycles carrying terrorists in the Sangeko area of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara State. The terrorists were effectively engaged, with several neutralized and their motorcycles destroyed, while others were injured.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, commended the professionalism and dedication of the air components, emphasizing the importance of continued efforts to support ground troops and ensure the safety and confidence of Nigerian citizens.
These operations demonstrate the commitment of the Nigerian military to maintaining security and addressing the terrorist threat in the region.
