The Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research (CGA) in Germany is a collaborative effort of the University of Cologne Excellence Cluster on Stress Responses in Aging-Associated Diseases (CECAD), the University Hospital Cologne, the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, and the Max Planck Institute for Metabolism Research. This partnership has positioned Cologne as a leading global research cluster for aging research in Life Sciences.

Job Details

CGA is offering 12 fully funded PhD positions to highly motivated and talented researchers. The structured Ph.D. training program will commence individually between July 1 and October 1, 2024, with an initial contract duration of three years. Payment will be based on the German TV-L E13 scale (65%) if conditions under collective bargaining law are met. Alternatively, an equivalently remunerated Ph.D. support contract with the Max Planck Society may apply.

Who CGA is Looking For

CGA is seeking highly qualified and motivated students who hold an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in fields such as Biology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Genetics, Medical Biology, Translational Medicine, or related areas. Ideal candidates should have demonstrated their motivation, interest, and qualifications for research in the above-mentioned fields by achieving excellent grades in their B.Sc. and M.Sc. studies. Proficiency in English at a C1 level (written and spoken) is required.
