The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a group of alleged ritualists involved in killing people and harvesting their body parts for sale in various states. Among the ten suspects arrested are a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Islamic cleric, an Osun priestess, and a traditional medicine practitioner.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the command, the arrests were made following public intelligence reports. The suspects, operating in one of Lagos’s most extreme divisions, were found to be involved in a gruesome trade of human organs.
The gang leader, 33-year-old Ademola Akinlosotu, initially confessed to digging up dead bodies from graves and selling their parts to ritualists. However, he later admitted to advancing to killing people and selling their organs to clients on demand. Akinlosotu disclosed that he transitioned to harvesting live body parts as his clients preferred fresh organs over decomposing ones.

Ahmed Wahab, also known as Alfa Bororo, aged 52, was identified as the man responsible for supplying body parts to clients. He operated in both Badagry in Lagos State and Ogun State. The suspects revealed chilling details about the prices of human organs, with a dried human head fetching between N30,000 and N35,000, a fresh human head selling for N45,000 or N50,000, a human heart for N70,000, and human hands for N50,000.
Akinlosotu admitted to killing two people, one of whom was a friend he met on social media. He disclosed that prior to the killings, they consulted a herbalist to ensure the success of the operation and avoid any complications.
In a disturbing revelation, Akinlosotu claimed that he was instructed by a traditional ruler in Badagry to kill his own son, who was causing him problems. Additionally, he mentioned that a friend who visited him on the day they were supposed to carry out the killing ended up becoming a victim himself. According to Akinlosotu, he only harvested the victim’s head, heart, and hands.
The police recovered various human body parts as exhibits during the investigation. Once the inquiries are concluded, the suspects will be brought before the courts to face justice for their heinous crimes.
